Ruling the high seas? It's certainly not all fun and games. It's a constant battle to make sure your rum supply stays secured while you're away from port, because no pirate want to be sailing the ocean with an empty cup. You also have to worry about ailments like scurvy, ruthless shipmates who will mutiny if you don't secure enough doubloons to fill up their chests, and you also have to deal with just what happens, if, in the heat of battle, you intentionally set your own beard on fire. We hope for your sake there is some ointment on board!
Of course, the famed captain of the high seas Blackbeard conquered all these challenges, and more, cause he was a top notch privateer! (And yes, he was known to actually light his own beard on fire to intimidate enemies—that's crazy!) If you'd like to step into the shoes of this historical figure, all you'll have to do is suit up in this top caliber costume. It's made and designed by us here in our costume studios because, like you, we're all about that pirate action every Halloween!
Suit up with swagger and get ready to count your bouillons when you go in this exclusive look. Styled as a jacket with a false faux leather vest attached, it includes all the signature touches to complete the style. (Except for the prop weapons. Ye will have to raid our pirate accessories page to stock up on those!) A jabot secures around the neck to look like a ruffled shirt, a faux leather bandolier and boot covers add a rugged touch, and a sash secures around the waist to tie the look together. The heavy woven jacket features screen printed details, brushed silver buttons, and false shirt cuffs attached at the wrist. Simply finish the style by wearing the included hat, and with a red scarf lining and attached feather, this felt hat will make you feel like real captain of the high seas. Keep your men in high spirits (and full of spirits too), and we're sure your mission will be a success. But, you still might want to keep ye olde matches handy...

Height 5' 10" | Weight 190 | Size MediumWe purchased both the men's and women's version of this costume. The men's costume looked better, but both are good. The jacket is very nice. Hat needs some shaping from being smashed in the bag. The boot covers have to be pinned to your pants to keep them from bunching up around the ankles. The sash looks great. The musket gun accessories were expensive through this website. We found similar ones elsewhere online for 1/4 the cost. Height 5'10" | Weight 210 | Size X-LargeIt's the best costume ever. I added a musket and sword to complete the look. Some have complained about the boot covers and hat - pay no attention. You can bend the hat to match your look. I chose to fold up one side like the Halloween Costume photo. When put on over pants, the boot covers look really cool, and no one will question their construction. The cummerbund and matching hat scarf are excellent and held my chest belt and sword in place. I attended several parties with this outfit and, in all cases, was greeted with - WOW, THAT'S AMAZING!

Overall the costume is solid and of good quality. I bought it for myself as a plus size lady, because I wanted a cool looking pirate costume that wasn't overly feminine. Typically I fit in 3XL women's clothing, so the XL men's costume was a bit big in the shoulders and a bit small in the waist, but it does work out well enough.
The jacket specifically is well made. It will definitely keep you warm, so yay for the cool weather people, but warm weather people be aware.
The sash is very long and nice, a lovely maroon color that matches the sash attached to the hat. The hat is alright, but it would be better with more shape to it in general.
I agree with the other reviews that the belt and shoe cover are the least quality items in the set, but the boot covers at least do the job. As far as the belt is concerned, if you don't buy the little guns, it won't work super well for the outfit.Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?

Very Impressed with this costume! it fit perfectly and even that hat looks really good. overall very pleased with the purchase and the fast shipping. while it shows 3 pistols in the pistol strap it holds 5. I did order the pirate flint pistols as in the picture it it looks amazing. Was highly impressed overall with the costume however several pieces left me underwhelmed. The boot covers were complete trash and fortunately recognized that the picture was not the boot covers shipped... but actual boots sold on this site. I ordered boot covers from elsewhere so I was fine on that issue. The hat was a wired affair that while not awesome more than served its purpose. The great: the jacket is fantastic. Gorgeous and made to last. Note, it’s going to retain heat. I expect I’ll be sweating quite a bit in this (indoor party), but it’ll be worth it!
The good: the hat isn’t a proper hat, it’s a flimsy costume piece meant to fold down into a bag for storage. But, it looks good, and that is the important part.
The red waist sash is nice as well. I’d love to see a video how they tied it on, because I can’t match the look. But I was able to figure out a reasonable alternative. The boot covers are good too. Sadly, I don’t have boots that match them, oh well.
The meh: the neck piece (which implies a shirt, but is just the collar section) is well made, but has no variance for neck sizes. If the Velcro part was just a bit longer, it’d be much easier to adjust a little tighter or looser.
The bad: the bandolier is just plain awful crap. No nice way to say it, it’s a junk piece.

Height 5'8" | Weight 175 | Size MediumI bought this for a pirate themed party and I was impressed with the workmanship on the coat and hat. The leather bandolier thing was a little on the cheap side and I didn't find it useful. I just tucked a fake flintlock pistol into the sash. Also, I ordered a medium and the coat was a little tight. I had a shirt left over from a Renfair event that I wore and just left the jacket open. If you're buying this and you're thinking between medium and large, buy the large. Good base to modify with better quality pieces, this matches AC4 black flag Black Beard character. But again is a great base for your own unique cosplay cons and experience.
