Not So Fast, Prince John
Once upon a time, jolly old England wasn't so jolly anymore. Good King Richard was off fighting the Crusades, and while he was gone, his evil brother Prince John stepped in to rule the country with a greedy hand. His idea of public reform was "Get the Sheriff of Nottingham to collect ALLLL the taxes," which had the general public feeling a little resentful, to say the least. But what he didn't count on was a vigilante hero whose main goal was to take care of the general public and have a hilariously fun time doing it.

Look every inch the dashing outlaw in this exclusive Deluxe Robin Hood Costume for Men! The long tunic is designed to look like a sleeveless vest worn over long-sleeved, cream-colored shirt. The "vest" portion is made of brown faux suede, has decorative lacing at the chest, and a dagged hemline studded with brass-tone rivets. A short green cape (with a hood, of course!) ties at your neck. Buckle the brown faux leather belt around your waist and slip on the faux leather wrist guards before you sneak into Sherwood Forest.

You have to love a folk hero who's awesome but doesn't take himself seriously. Robin Hood basically started a secret club full of his best friends, with cool uniforms and code names, and then pranked the Prince and the Sheriff's men until they were completely demoralized. Size MediumDefinitely consider sizing up. The measurement chart is fairly accurate but the cuffs on the sleeves are comically small and have no stretch whatsoever, making it very difficult to fit hands through. I was pleasantly surprised at the the materials though. The polyester faux suede has a good texture to it, and the sleeves approximate linen pretty well. The hooded cape is velvety and has some weight to it. The belt is a pretty obvious faux leather but the buckle is metal, which was a nice surprise. The bracers are pretty short (accurate to picture) and have non functional laces, which seems a little silly to me since they have stretchy fabric on the other side to adjust to your wrist. Why not just make it all one piece and use the laces to adjust them? The sizing issues are annoying but the materials feel a definite step above a typical store bought Halloween costume.Was this review helpful to you?
