A What Helmet?
It's hard enough to break the ice and a costume party with your day-to-day appearance obscured. So we always recommend coming prepared with a good bit of trivia at the tip of your tongue. Here's one: in pre-Victorian England, the politician Sir Robert Peel oversaw the creation of London's first organized police force. And to curry favor with the public (who resented the red coat), Peel made sure the new patrolmen wore black jackets and tall wool hats with big, shiny badges. To this day, the policemen are so tied up in the legend of Sir Robert Peel, they are referred to as "Peelers," or "Bobbies," after their creator. Cool, isn't it?
