Problematic Polly
Pirates keeping parrots as pets is a mystery to us. First of all, a pirate would have to keep the parrot fed and safe while sailing the high seas. We imagine that could be a problem at times. Even if feeding wasn’t a problem and the exotic bird was a valuable treasure to their marauding companion, their ability to learn human speech would be concerning. Sure, a talking parrot could relay gossip from rivals and wannabe mutineers. But if Polly was sharing more than requests for crackers, say their keeper’s secrets, they could cause plenty of sticky situations as well.
Honestly, we’d say leave the bird at home. Unless of course, it could do more than squawk and look pretty…

I bought this to go with my costume. Although I’m not happy with the costume, I love this bag. The handle is super short but that can be easily fixed. The parrot purse was super cute and plush. There wasn’t a lot of room for more than my phone and keys, but that’s because it was stuffed so perfectly. I only noticed a bit of stuffing coming out from under his bill and I guess someone forgot to close a finger size hole at those seams. Otherwise it was very nice. Not disappointed.
