Costume sizes are very different than regular clothing sizes, and do vary from costume to costume. The best way to order is by taking your measurements, add 3-4 inches to them for movement, and compare them to those listed on the product page. These are the EXACT measurements of the costume that we take right here in our warehouse. If you find that you are between sizes, we always recommend going with the size up!Q: How do we wash it?

As costumes are not made like regular clothes, they are more delicate. Most of the time there's a tag with care instructions, otherwise, we recommend hand washing or spot cleaning and hanging it to dry. Please do not iron, instead, you would want to steam out wrinkles.Reviews

We knew we wanted to be the Sanderson Sisters last year. SO we started our hunt for the perfect costume. WELL I could not have been more SATISIFIED. This costume was EVERYTHING. The material was Beautiful and very comfortable. I did order up 2 sizes but that's jus for me. My 2 sisters also ordered there from this site as well. Now I must shop for next year... Height 6’ | Size 3XOverall this was a great buy. It looked beautiful on. Fit like a glove. Etc etc. however, if I’m spending nearly $300 on something, I expect top of the line quality. And this costume missed the mark. A clasp at the wrist of the overcoat was broken. Sheer fabric was a frayed mess. The tassels are poorly attached and continuously were coming off. The hem of the dress didn’t exist. It was just raw edged fabric left to fray over time. I was able to fix (for the most part) what issues I found. But only because I’m creative and capable. Your average Joe would be furious. Its amazing I have both this one and the Deluxe version from Spirit Halloween and this is so much better! Its two pieces, the ruffle total blue center is amazing, the snake brooches, its heavy and that means warm. Its stretchy and super comfortable on without clothes. I ordered a size up at 2X and I really didn't have to a 1X would have worked perfectly but now if i wanted to add some layers I can. The material its made with is very sturdy and not cheap you absolutely get what you pay for. Did I mention the wig?? Its the best one I've seen out there now I want the Sarah Sanderson one. Due to a time crunch I couldn't return it and had to have it altered. The quality was decent. I was pleasantly surprised! The hook detail was nice and the sleeves were a bit over the top but true to the movie detail !!! I'm 5'7" and it dragged on the ground some. It was really fun!
Now the wig...ugh... toss it. The wig that came with this was absolutely awful! It was a terrible wad of cheap plastic thread. The Winifred costume arrived nicely packed with the wig included. The material was substantial, especially the outer dress. The metal closures of that dress were a very nice addition. This is not a negative but just a comment, if you are petite in height, you will have to hem it. This is the issue with any costume and does not take away from my 5 star review. Height 5'5" | Weight 280I LOVE this costume. I am very pleased with the quality (mostly). The taffeta of the underdress is soft and flows nicely. The simulated details are very well done.
The jacket is a type of crushed velvet like material and a bit heavier than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The front clasp simulated gems are very nice. The clasp seems like it can hold up to a wear or two.
I think the measurements are accurate. Use the guide to determine how much ease you would like. I could have purchased a 3x. Everything but the arms would have fit nicely. I chose the 4x for a bit more room (ease) as I have larger arms. It is a bit long, so I will wear boots with small heels.
However, I did take off one star for 2 small issues that disappoint me a little. I did read about this in other reviews, so this was not unexpected. The first is the clasp at the wrists on the jacket.This is a stress point. I am not very optimistic about the quality of the clasps holding the heavy material for any kind of extended wear. The options would be to just tack this spot, open the clasp and wear it that way or replace the clasps (which I don't feel I should have to do if purchasing a finished garment).
The second is the lack of finishing on the edges of a fabric that fray considerably. A rolled hem, a line of stitching, an edge embellishment, any of these could have solved this issue. I will run a line of stitching myself. I do like the frayed look, but not as far as this material will fray. So I will not do a rolled hem.

Height 5'9 | Weight 200 | Size 2XOkay, so I'm going to try to be as thorough as possible and give you the info that would have helped me
Sizing:
I read the sizing guide and followed it the best I could, but of course it's just a general guideline, so it's not incredibly helpful in regards to this costume. I ordered a 2X because I was right on the money for the 1X sizes. I figured adding two inches would make it too snug and since I live where it's in the 80s well into the month of October, I didn't want to be uncomfortable. I definitely should have ordered the 1X, and possibly even down to the XL. The corset like closure on the front allows for a lot of play. Even with it pulled as tight as it will go, it's still loose on me. It's not so loose that I can't pull it off, but cinching the two sides together like this poses a couple of issues. The first one being that you can't really see the purple between them and the second one being that it creates a... Uh... "Poof" in the front of the dress that looks like I'm smuggling a subway footlong between my legs. It's just not flattering. We were able to kinda fix it by using safety pins to pull the material tighter. Overall, this issue could have been solved by having clearer sizing guidelines.
Quality:
The jacket is heavy. Heavy heavy. I have no doubt that this thing will keep me warm even on the coldest Halloween night. That being said, the green lace is very frayed, which I'm sure is for some degree of authenticity. However, it would have been nice to have some kind of hem to not allow this to continue to fray. It snags on EVERYTHING, including the costume itself. I'm going to look up a way to fix this without alternating the look too much, perhaps clear nail polish, I'm just worried about it being... Crunchy. Lol. The clasps on the coat are very nice though and add a very nice touch. In regards to the actual dress, it's a back zipper, so if you have limited range of motion in your arms or shoulders like I do, it may be difficult to get into on your own. I'm 5'9 and the dress is perfect length on me. I ordered some kitten heel witchy looking shoes on Amazon and the dress isn't so long that I'm stepping on it, which is good. The lace on the sleeves is thicker than the sheer lace on the coat and I do not think it's going to fray the same way, but I still plan on being careful with it. My only other complaint is the bulge that I described in the sizing paragraph above. There isn't really a hem on parts of the bottom of the dress, so I worry about fray there, but I think it will add a look of authenticity to it as long as it doesn't spread too much. The wig is pretty sorry though. I could probably work with it to get it to look right, but I'm pretty adventurous with my hair color and just changed to you for the costume, so I won't be using the wig anyway.
Overall, I'm definitely satisfied with the costume. The material seems to be higher quality, especially as far as Halloween costumes are concerned. I don't think it's worth the money, but it's definitely better quality and closer to authentic than the cheaper alternatives I've found. Got it right this time, YAY! This costume is well-sewn, made of nice materials, very pretty and comfortable. The dress is made of a thinner material but is not see-through. It is long though (I'm 5'5" and it touches the floor while wearing 1/2" heels) so I'll need to be a little careful while walking or wear shoes with a higher heel, not a big deal. The jacket is made with a much thicker material and is so soft. I'm not sure I will be able to keep it on all evening because I do tend to be hot, but the dress is nice enough that I can just wear that and still look good while being comfortable so it's not an issue. I like the color and size of the wig that comes with the costume, the only issue I have is that it arrived in kind of a ratty mess on top. I'm hoping I can use a wide-tooth comb to fix that, but after reading other comments, I had already purchased a 2nd wig so I can just wear that one if necessary. I got the Disney Winifred Sanderson costume and it is gorgeous! I love it! It is well worth the money. I bought the suggested upgraded wig too and it was also worth it. I didn't even realize that the costume came with a wig . The wig that came w/ it was ok but the upgraded wig is so much better. I wear a 2x-3x but I bought a 4x. It's a bit roomy, I could have gone smaller but didn't want to chance it being too small. I ordered according to the measurements, not dress size, and although a little big, it wasn't by much and it looked great! Need to do some hemming but the costume is the best so far for Winifred that I've seen. The costume arrived with the jewel clasp broken. Instead of going through the hassle of returning and ordering another one, I just joined the two jewel pieces together with some wire. The cape is heavy and would be great for someone who lives in cooler weather, but I live in Florida and it will be hot. The wig was a mess, but I will work on trying to fix it also. This design looks correct until you get to the back of the outfit. Winifred dress does not have a dove on the back of it but serpents. Sorely disappointed at this huge design. Flaw. Cons: None of the raw edges are finished, so they are unravelling right out of the box. The gathered purple fabric is sew unevenly on the front of the dress, so it bunches & sags oddly. The wig is a fuzzy, nappy, misshapen mess, so no chance fixing it. Dress is VERY LONG. If you aren't at least 5'7, you're going to chop off most of the design work on the bottom. The embellishments are cheap cast metal, expect them to break easily.
Summary: Plan to put in a lot of work fixing things if you don’t want to have the costume ruined after 1 wear. If you're short, it's not for you. Height 5’The metal clasp was broken on the jacket, the sheer material on the arms began unraveling/ shredding on the edges, and the wig was such a bunched up ratty mess that couldn’t be shaped right. Beautiful jacket otherwise. Since the wig was unusable, I opted for a different costume completely. Company gave me 20% off since no substitute was available. Height 5' 8" | Size 2XIt is a perfect fit and very much exactly like Winnifred's costume in the movie. The cape over has a sheer material in it and it is all unravelling. I just put it on for the first time today.
