I tried this dress in a XL and had to return it thinking the 1X would be better. I couldn't get the sleeve to pull past my elbow in either dress! Very tight and unforgiving fabric so no room for stretch. This is a very cute costume, and I'm happy to have it, but the sleeves are nowhere near a plus size. I finally opened the seams all the way to the dress and left them flapping loose.
I was going to get the Autumn Witch costume but a review said that the sleeves were too tight. I hoped that this other costume would be appropriate, but the same manufacturer must be using the same pattern.

The costume is made very well and material does not feel cheap, but the arms are so tight, its tough to get your arms in. I purchased a 1X because reviews said that the arms were very tight, but it didn't matter. Arms are very tight in the 1X as well. And the material isn't stretchy around the arms either. Usually I can wear both XL or 1X. 1X is a bit roomy, which is fine for me. I'm keeping it cause I love how well its made.
