Sheep Halloween Costumes

Sheep Costumes

Sheep seem to have a reputation for being somewhat stupid. If someone calls you a sheep, they're probably trying to imply that you mindlessly follow other people or trends. (Which we think is a little unfair. Some things are popular because they're awesome!) However, studies have recently shown that sheep are a lot more intelligent than we initially thought. They can navigate mazes, form friendships, and even feel bored. And regardless of their smarts, when it comes to farm animals, they're definitely one of the cutest! We always have a fun time dressing as fluffy animals, and we think you will too. Whether you need a costume for Halloween, a Nativity celebration, or a school play, we're sure you'll find something you like!

Halloween is the perfect time to enjoy all things spooky. Many people like to watch scary movies or go to haunted houses, and others just like to dress up. There's no shortage of scary costumes around the Halloween season, from ghosts to zombies and everything in between. However, sometimes it's nice to take a break from the adrenaline and wear something cute. You have plenty of options for adorable costumes, but one of our favorites is fluffy animal costumes, like sheep. Plus, if you live in a colder climate, it's always nice to have a costume that keeps you toasty while you're out collecting candy. Check out our sheep costumes this Halloween to find something you'll "wooly" like!

Women's Sheep Costume

Woman Sheep Costume

One thing that most kids seem to find fascinating is learning the names for babies of different species. (We think it's pretty neat too.) For example, a baby horse is called a foal, a baby cat is called a kitten, and babies of many different species are called cubs. Some animals even have different names for the adult males and females of their species. In this instance, a male sheep is called a ram, and a female sheep is called a ewe. And now we can say we think ewe would look great in a women's sheep costume! (Whew, sorry about that one.) You'll be glad you chose a sheep costume this Halloween!

Sheep Costumes for Kids

Sheep Costumes for Kids

Does your kid always seem to have a ton of energy? Do they run and jump around so often that you sometimes wonder if they're part rabbit? Or maybe you see them hopping around trying to catch frogs in your yard. Help them get all that liveliness out with a sheep costume for kids! They'll love to run and frolic like a spring lamb all day. Then, when all their energy is gone, you can tell them to count sheep to help them get to sleep. And since the costume is so warm and soft, they might not even want to take it off! Your kid will love wearing a sheep costume whether they need to frolic, trick-or-treat, or be the star of the play.

Toddler Sheep Costume

Toddler Sheep Costume

If you're the caregiver for a toddler, you probably truly empathize with Mary, the classic storybook character. "Everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go." It seems to be a pretty universal phenomenon that toddlers don't really like to give you a lot of private time. If your little one likes to follow you around, maybe you should dress them in a toddler lamb costume this Halloween! After all, having a lamb follow you around is much better than many other animals that could be stalking you. We're very thankful that it isn't "Mary Had a Little Spider." That story would be a little too scary for us!

Baby Sheep Costume

Baby Sheep Costume

Baby animals of almost every kind are cute, but there certainly are some exceptions. Some birds look a little frightening when they first hatch. Also, we think anything that has cute fur but is born without it is a little weird. (Baby aye-ayes, for example, can be slightly creepy.) However, baby humans are always adorable, and so are baby sheep. Put them together and you'll have the cutest combination you've ever seen this Halloween! Try a baby lamb costume for your infant this year, and they'll be not only adorable but also nice and toasty while they're wearing it. We can't imagine anything sweeter!

Couples Sheep Costumes

Almost everyone loves a good couples costume. After all, two costumes are better than one! Sometimes they work together to make a fantastic pun, and sometimes they just complement each other very well. And not all of them are just a prince and princess! Many couples' costumes are food-related, like ketchup and mustard, salt and pepper, or milk and cookies, but we think you can pair almost any two costumes if you're creative enough. And you certainly don't have to be a romantically involved couple to wear a set of costumes together! Whether you're siblings, friends, or coworkers, we think you'll have more fun as a pair than on your own in these sheep and shepherd costumes.

Bo Peep Costumes

Bo Peep Costume

We've always been a little bit confused by the rhyme that tells the story of Little Bo Peep. Why did she fall asleep in the first place? Why did her sheep run away? Didn't she have a dog to herd them? And after all that, why and how did they leave their tails behind? We have so many questions. This Halloween, step into her shoes and find the answers! With a Bo Peep costume, perhaps you'll be able to discover why things happened the way they did. And if you can get some of your friends to dress up as sheep, you might get even closer to the truth. However, regardless of whether or not you solve the mystery, we're sure you'll have fun being a shepherdess for a while.

Adult Sheep Costume

Adult Sheep Costume

Who said that sheep costumes are only for children? (We didn't!) An adult sheep costume is the perfect choice if you're a fan of puns. Sheariously, we herd ewe were looking for a wooly great costume this year. We just fit four in one sentence! And the comedic value doesn't stop there. Double up your costume and give your sheep character a job! A cheerleader is a great costume on its own, but a sheep cheerleader? Comedy gold. We can't explain why, but the idea of a sheep astronaut has us rolling on the floor. We know you'll come up with your own fantastic combination. No matter what you choose, you'll have a great time being this cuddly animal. Just be sure to run away from (or follow) any Bo Peeps you might see!

Sheep Onesies

Whether you're an overworked parent, a procrastinator, or someone whose creative strengths lie somewhere other than fashion, you'll know that a one-step outfit is a lifesaver. And even if you do like to pick out the perfect pair of heels to go with every coordinated ensemble, sometimes you're just in too much of a hurry to worry about it. That's when a jumpsuit comes in handy. All you have to do is pull it on, zip it up, and go! Plus, they're usually super cozy and comfortable! So if you live somewhere with cold and snowy Halloweens as we do, you can stay nice and warm while you're celebrating without having to ruin your costume with a coat.

Sheep Jumpsuit

Sheep Halloween Costume

If you've worked with kids before, you know that wrestling a small squirmy child into a complicated costume is enough to drive you crazy. You might even be tempted to become a mad scientist if only to invent something that will just make them sit still! With older kids, the challenge can be keeping track of multiple costume parts. If you want to avoid hearing, "Hey, have you seen my other glove?" seventy-two times in the hour it takes them to get ready, you might want to try a jumpsuit costume. Of course, you can always add fun details like face paint and other accessories, but at least you won't have to worry about them losing their tail (or you losing your mind)!

Sheep Kigurumi

Sheep Kigurumi

When it comes to settling in and being cozy, fleece is a great choice. Whether it's made into a blanket, socks, or a sweater, it's one of the best things to keep us warm. It does for the sheep it comes from, anyway! And just like we enjoy switching out our sweaters for t-shirts in the spring, we imagine it must be a relief for sheep to be sheared once the weather gets warmer. In fact, most domestic sheep need their wool cut, or it will just keep growing, obstructing their vision and causing them to overheat. Fortunately, with a cozy sheep kigurumi, that will never happen. You can wear it when you need a little warmth and shed it whenever you want!

Sheep Costume Accessories

Accessories can sometimes be just as important as the rest of your costume. We would even go so far as to say that they're essential if you're going to put together a costume yourself. A black suit by itself doesn't quite seem like a costume, but add a pair of sunglasses and now you're a spy! A crown turns a formally dressed person into royalty, and a DIY name tag makes you into a game show contestant. So if you're going to dress as a sheep, a little bit of makeup or a pair of horns will take your costume from good to great! Whether you choose a pre-made jumpsuit or you're wearing a fleece sweater and black pants, the details are what make it fun.

Shepherd's Crook

Shepherds Crook

Although wild sheep do just fine without humans, domesticated sheep definitely need a shepherd. A good shepherd wears many hats. They must guide the sheep to safe grazing places and protect them from predators like wolves and bears. They must also take care of minor diseases and wounds and possibly even shear the sheep themselves! If you've ever tried to catch a sheep, you know it's not an easy task. A shepherd's work is made much simpler with a shepherd's crook. They're used to rescue, catch and herd sheep. If you're going to be the one taking care of your fleecy friends this Halloween, your costume won't be complete without one. Bring it along to keep them out of trouble, but please don't hit anyone dressed as a wolf!

Ram Horns

Ram Horns

Different animals do lots of different things to try to find a partner. Some dance, some sing, and some build beautiful homes. We humans have come up with some weird ways to try to attract each other. We flatter other people, buy them expensive jewelry, or try to impress them with our fashionable clothes and fast cars. However, whether or not you think these are silly gestures when trying to find a partner, you have to admit we're doing better than sheep. At least we don't run toward each other and smash our heads together! If you want to imitate the males of this species, you'll need a set of horns, but please don't go around headbutting anyone. It (probably) won't help you find a mate!

Bo Peep Staff

Bo Peep Staff

"Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep and can't tell where to find them." That's the beginning of the nursery rhyme that got poor Bo Peep her reputation of sleeping on the job. (We're not sure how she dozed off in that dress. If she was going to nap, she should have at least changed into some comfy sleepwear!) However, the rest of the poem tells how she takes her crook and goes to find her sheep. If you think you're going to have to keep track of your friends this Halloween, maybe a Bo Peep staff is what you need! We just know it will make everyone flock to you. (Sorry. We can't resist.)

Black Sheep Horns

Black Sheep Horns

Do you have a "black sheep" in your family? Maybe it's you! If your whole family loves Harry Potter, but you're just not into it, you might get this nickname. "Black sheep" usually refers to someone who doesn't fit in with the group or even openly opposes them. Although it was initially meant to be insulting, most people who use it these days don't mean anything too harsh by it. And besides, we don't think it's a bad thing to stand out! If you like sheep but want to display a little originality, maybe you'd like to make a black sheep costume that includes some black sheep horns. You can still be nice and fluffy, but you'll just be wearing a different color!
