Design & Details
You're sure to shine in this Made By Us outfit inspired by the film! The one-piece outfit starts with a purple bodice adorned with sequins and supported by corset boning. The green sequined skirt flares out to a mermaid silhouette below the knees, with layers of ruffled iridescent organza at the hemline to imitate Ariel's tail.

Height 5’ | Weight 125 | Size SmallBought this for a Disney Halloween party and a 2 mile “fun run” (walk) in New Orleans. It fit fine when I tried it on at home - though be aware these mermaids run SMALL. I’d size up to be safe! The real issues began when we got to Disney- the zipper is extremely finicky and it took my husband and myself a lot of coordination to figure out the zipper. The zipper fabric gets caught in itself and it’s tricky. The worse issue is this dress is made of large, flat plastic sequins sewn to fabric. Inside, there is a seam where the sequin and fabric are folded and snipped off. This is the side that rubs directly against your leg / pants / tights/ etc. the sequins are cut along the seam into what can best be described as a row of small razor sharp daggers that claw into your legs with every step. At best, this is itchy and irritating. At worst, it does what it did to me- scratches my bare leg so miserably it draws blood in long horizontal gashes. I wore it to a 2 mile walking event and was distracted by the itching… and was horrified at the end!!!! You would be well advised to go along the inner seam and snip any sharp sequins. Or wear thick pants underneath but still I do believe this would be insanely itchy. It would absolutely shred a pair of nylons or tights.
The costume itself looks lovely. If these issues were addressed I’d recommend 9 or 10/10. Without..: buy anything else.Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?
