Day of the dead might be seen as macabre but people who celebrate know that it's one of the most beautiful holidays out there. There are so many traditions that make this time of year shine bright. People honor family and friends who've passed on with altars rich in marigolds, incense, and pictures of the ones who've passed on. The souls are greeted with their favorite foods and a tall glass of water to refresh them after their long journey. Our favorite though? We love when people dress to the nines in skull makeup in the tradition of La Catrina. It's a celebration that not only celebrates the dead but acknowledges the fact that we're all skeletons. We'll all pass on some day, so why not celebrate what we are!
