Journey through time with our Then and Now blog category, where nostalgic reflections meet modern twists, celebrating the evolution of iconic costumes and characters!
From the smell of freshly made, buttery popcorn to being bundled up in cozy, oversized blankets, watching a Disney movie with the family is the ultimate weekday treat. Many of us were raised on the stories of Aladdin, Belle, Cinderella, and other iconic characters as they navigated through moral tests and fought off evil enemies. Disney has since turned some of our favorite classics into live-action films with refreshed visuals so we can share the experience of seeing these stories with our kids.

Are you ready to unite the league? Justice League is set to hit theaters and be one of the biggest movies of the season (that is, until a little movie called Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out). Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman (maybe?) will be welcoming newcomers Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg to the team in a fight to save the world. The latest DC heroes team-up is the fifth in what has...

It's about to get a little crowded in Hell's Kitchen. The time has arrived for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to assemble as The Defenders premieres on Netflix this month. The show will follow the storyline from the end of Daredevil season 2, in which all of the characters finally cross paths to take down The Hand, an ancient organization that is (as you may have guessed) up to no good. If you've watched any of Marvel's shows on Netflix, you know that the personalities of these characters are not of those who work well in teams. Therefore, The Defenders is bound to offer some fun and intriguing character dynamics. In fact, we've already seen some of it in the trailer!...

So we're just a few weeks away from X-Men: Apocalypse hitting the theaters. The second sequel to the X-Men First Class series, which was introduced in 2011, will mark the ninth overall installment in the X-Men films. It's safe to say that we are eagerly anticpating finding out just what will happen to the X-Men when the movie finally drops. Will Apocalypse and his four horseman destroy the fledgling X-Men and rule the world? Or will Professor Charles Xavier and Raven be able to lead their ragtag band of mutants to once again save the world from doom??
We can't wait to find out, but in the interim, we've just having a ton of fun geeking out on everything X related. We were blown away when Empire magazine featured 9 collectible Apocalypse covers in their May 2016 issue, so we decided to assemble the cover collage that highlights the new costume looks and then recreate the design using artwork from our own stacks of vintage comics. With art that shows what the iconic characters looked like in titles such as The Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, and X-Factor, you can use these interactive slider images to make an in-depth comparision of what each character looks like in 2016 compared to how they appeared in vintage...

It's 2016 and we finally have a Deadpool movie! While the past 6+ months have been littered with off-the-wall marketing campaigns and NSFW trailers, Deadpool fans have been clamoring for a movie dating all the way back to 2000 when a film featuring the quirky, anti-hero was orginally announced. After New Line Cinema dropped the project, 20th Century Fox decided to pick up the character and ultimately included him in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Ryan Reynolds cast as Deadpool. The character fell flat, but Fox was determined to move forward with a solo film featuring the superhero. Although they did initially choose a director, the film was eventually dropped. During summer 2014, though, test footage filmed two years prior leaked online and the buzz generated by fans caused Fox to pick the movie back up AGAIN. Now we'll finally get to see Deadpool on the big screen!

The Fantastic Four has been fighting crime in the Marvel Universe for over 50 years, ever since they first appeared in The Fantastic Four #1, all thanks to the super-duo creative team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Countless comic issues, cartoons, and movies, have all been released since that first appearance, and, as expected, the quartet's costuming has changed quite a few times in these past decades. The newest movie, Fantastic Four, is out this July 2015, so we thought it would be a perfect time to pull together all of the group's looks in one infographic! This image shows 15 of the superheroes' notable outfits, and is narrated by the Invisible Woman herself, Sue Storm. We've also included an interactive slider at the top, so you can compare the Fantastic Four's look from 1961 to the actors from the 2015 film!
