Joker Costume DIY: Put on a Happy Face

Love it or hate it, Joker is iconic as a gritty, realistic supervillain movie that explores his descent into a life of crime. It's a brand new take on Batman's most famous adversary, and it's incredibly easy to DIY. If you're interested in dressing like Joaquin Phoenix's Joker character for Halloween, we'll show you what you need to recreate his outfit. It's relatively simple to do, and our exclusive mask is a great option if you're not confident about your makeup skills. (You can always check out our Joker makeup tutorial if you want to give the makeup version a shot!)

Joaquin Phoenix's Joker and his burgundy suit makes him stand out from other renditions of the character. Thankfully, HalloweenCostumes.com's exclusive Ron Burgundy costume is absolutely perfect! With the base of your costume down, you'll only need a few other accessories to complete Joker's outfit. You'll want a mustard-colored vest and an emerald green collared dress shirt. This Newt Scamander vest works well enough if you can't thrift one in the right color. Then you'll want to gather some brown dress shoes (preferable two-toned, if you can find those), some cigarettes (even fake cigarettes will do), clown makeup and/or this clown mask, and a green wig. In order to style the wig, you'll want to carefully comb through it with water and slick it back with a strong hairspray. Put all of these elements together, and your Joker cosplay is now complete!

Get ready to put on a happy face! The Joker may be conflicted about where he fits in the world...but everything he does, he does with a smile. Did you enjoy the 2019 Joker movie?
