Stephen King's Adaptations: Film & Television Adaptations of Stephen King's Work

There's no question that Stephen King is the one of the most prominent, influential horror authors ever. Since selling his first short story in 1967, Stephen King has been a publishing machine over the past 50 years. He's penned more than 50 novels and more than 200 short stories, with plenty of other written work in between. Over the years, King has even built his own fictional universe in connecting the worlds described in his work, many of them to The Dark Tower series along with several other characters and locations that either appear or are referenced in other stories.

A Justice League of Their Own [Posters]

A Justice League of Their Own

The 25th anniversary of A League of their Own is coming up and we wanted to do something to celebrate. It’s a funny and positive story, after all, plus we’re suckers for a good sports movie. So we got this idea to combine A League of Their Own with the DC Comics team Justice League, because we’re also a fan of mashups and puns. (But don’t you dare call them mashupuns, because that’s going too far.) Anyway, if you combine those two you get A Justice League of Their Own, which is pretty obvious if you’ve already read the title of this series of original poster art. This time, though, it won’t be the Justice League versus the Legion of Doom like in that episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Instead, they’ll be facing off against the Parademons and their ringer, Steppenwolf. Of course, the Justice League of Their Own has to win, because there’s no crying in baseball. Hey, enough of the jokes, let’s get in to the posters!

Sentient Vehicles: 25 Cars, Trucks, Buses, Bikes, and Trains That Can Think On Their Own [Infographic]

by |June 19, 2017

Sentient Vehicles Header

The concept of a vehicle that can act on its own has been around for decades. Movies and TV shows have often featured these characters with varying degrees of sentience, from cars that can talk and sing and interact with humans to other vehicles who are portrayed merely as self-driving, with no other personality traits. With both Cars 3 and Transformers: The Last Knight in theaters this month, there was no better time than now to create this infographic which features 25 of our very favorite sentient vehicles, dating all the way back to 1941. We’ve included Lightning McQueen and Optimus Prime, of course, but we're also sure to mention some lesser-known vehicles, such as a vampire motorcycle and a murderous semi-truck.

by |June 13, 2017

Babadook Meme Costume for Pride

If someone told you a few weeks ago that the Babadook would become the most popular symbol of 2017's Pride Month, you wouldn't have believed them. But, if the past year and a half have taught you a single lesson, literally ANYTHING can happen. Thank goodness for us, this time that "anything" was something incredible. The Babadook is a horror movie released in 2014 about a single mother and her kid being tormented by a storybook character. Pride is a celebration of LGBT rights, love, and acceptance. So, why is the Babadook a gay icon? Well, many reports say that Netflix accidentally added the film to their LGBT section, and as the internet is known to do, the joke took off. Whether that origin story is true or not, we don’t really care, because we love the Babadook’s new inclusion at Pride events around the country. Since we are HalloweenCostumes.com, and this is too amazing to not take part in, we created our own DIY Babadook costume perfect for you to wear to Pride or for Halloween this year.

The Evolution of Catwoman

Catwoman made her comic book debut 77 years ago in Batman #1 and has since been one of the Caped Crusader's greatest villains while also being a love interest of Bruce Wayne. Despite the fact that they're both on opposite sides of the law, there has always been an attraction between Batman and Catwoman. He even proposed to her recently! Throughout her early years, she was known as "The Cat" or "Cat-Woman" before being consistently referred to as Catwoman.
