Off the Mat: 9 Banned WWE Moves

How many times have you watched a professional wrestling match and thought, "that CANNOT be safe"? Well, most of the time those moves really are safe, believe it or not. After years of training, the performers in the ring know exactly how to execute each move to only look devastating, while making sure that both the inflictor and receiver walk away with all their bones and limbs intact. However, in the long history of pro-wrestling and, more specifically, the WWE itself, there are a few moves that have popped up that really aren’t safe at all. These moves can have a high-risk of real injury due to the precise timing needed to pull the maneuver off correctly. One forgotten tuck, one split second early or late, one missed cue can have real consequences in these dangerous moves. In this infographic, we show you nine of these banned moves that WWE has forbidden to be performed – tricks that have either been modified to be more safe or are completely banned from the ring itself. From kicks straight to the head to drops right on the head to chairs hit directly to the head, we urge you, don’t try this at home.

Harry Potter and the Hogwarts Staff

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was established around the year 990 in the highlands of Scotland. Its four founders–Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin–succeeded in becoming the “finest school of witchcraft and wizardry in the world”. That’s if you believe Rubeus Hagrid, which we generally do. Hogwarts is prestigious largely because of its excellent professors and support staff, which keep the school running and its students safe. Or relatively safe. It is a wizarding school, after all.

In this infographic, we look at the most important staff members at Hogwarts from September 1991 through May 1998, the years that Harry Potter attended (or should have attended) the school. With a few exceptions, we show the positions these staff members held at the Start-of-Term Feast held on September First each year.

Some of these permanent occupants enjoy playing tricks and others will not hesitate to tell you to get out of their hotel. If you are feeling brave, we've created a printable map with the shortest route to visit all the hotels in the contiguous states. We also did our homework and whipped up an infographic to help you learn a little bit about each of these haunted hotels, including the spookiest rooms to request at each location, in order to best prepare you for your journey!
