From viral moments and memes to astounding feats of athleticism, the true winners were the ones who made us look. If you're hoping to turn any of the famous incidents from this year's Olympics into Halloween costumes, have we got a list for you! Keep reading as we share some of the best Halloween costume ideas from the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Where else would we begin other than the opening ceremony? It had us buzzing well before the sporting events, and our favorite moment must be the iconic headless Marie Antoinette costume. Honestly, it's perfect for Halloween! Spooky, sensational, historical—this Olympics costume has it all! Who's winning the costume competition this year? You!

2. Snoop Dogg and Flavor Flav at the Olympics

These two music artists may not be Olympians, but their spirit for the Olympics won gold in our hearts! Snoop Dogg and Flavor Flav went above and beyond as some of the biggest supporters of the US Olympic teams. We love Flavor Flav's polo outfit, and Snoop even showed up wearing equestrian gear. Their unwavering enthusiasm for the Olympic games is unmatched and would honestly make an epic Halloween costume.

3. Raygun Breaking at the Olympics

Raygun may not have been great at breaking—but she perfected breaking the Internet! Her wildly unorthodox Breakdancing moves had us scratching our heads at how she made it into the Olympics, sparking memes and video reactions galore. Dress up in your best Raygun costume this year and drop your favorite moves on the party dance floor, from favorites like the kangaroo hop to the sprinkler.

4. Gearless Turkish Shooter Wins Silver

Most shooters at the Olympics look like something straight out of a sci-fi movie with their special glasses and scopes, but not Yusuf Dikec. Wearing nothing but his everyday glasses and a white Turkey team t-shirt, he snatched a silver medal and the world's attention. This is probably the easiest 2024 Olympics DIY costume on this list. Grab a prop gun, a white shirt, and iron-on vinyl or fabric paint, and you have a unique costume idea!

5. French Pole Vaulter Comically Loses

If you know, you know. Pole vaulting is a sport where people fling themselves into the air using flexible poles to jump over a horizontal bar without making it fall. The highest height wins! Unfortunately, with the whole world watching, French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati failed to flip over the bar spectacularly. On the plus side, plenty of people swooned worldwide, so he'll have no shortage of fans.

6. The Olympic Muffin Man

Was he here to compete or to eat the chocolate muffins? Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen developed a viral love for chocolate muffins from the Olympic Village cafeteria that will go down in Olympic history. He made videos sharing his passion for the muffins and even got other Olympians to participate and react. He may not have taken a medal home with him, but he made us all crave the taste of a chocolate muffin from the Olympics.

7. Pommel Horse Clark Kent

When the glasses come off, he means business. Stephen Nedoroscik from Team USA won the bronze medal, the first medal for US men's gymnastics in 16 years. He won the people's hearts with his nerdy, normal-guy appearance, with some likening the Olympic athlete to Clark Kent as Superman's alter-ego. Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly), this multi-talented individual also has the nerdiest talent for speed-solving Rubik's cube puzzles.

8. Ilona Maher's Light Snack

American Rugby player Ilona Maher became a bronze medalist—and a TikTok star. It's hard to pick one moment from her viral videos, but we love her biting into a croissant bigger than her head. Again, this is a simple Halloween costume to pull off with her white shirt and blue lanyard, but where will you get that massive croissant? It's a must-have!

9. Chinese Gymnast Bites Medal

While there were more than enough funny moments at the 2024 Olympics, some were incredibly cute. Take Chinese gymnast Zhou Yaqin's reaction to the other medalists biting their medals while on the podium. The medal chomp is traditional for some winners, which was apparently unknown to Zhou. Still, she adorably followed suit and made the whole world smile.

Do you need the perfect Halloween costume for a photo op? Look no further than Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina. Just before this image, Gabriel earned the highest single wave-riding score in the event's history: a 9.90. After he kicked out of the wave, he knew he had the ride of his career, striking this now-famous pose.
