All aboard for fun and adventure when you sail upon the Disney Treasure! Disney Cruise Line has quite a few ships in its fleet, including the Wish Class ship, the Disney Treasure. Unlike Disney Parks, where there are very limited costume-wearing opportunities, Disney cruise ships have more dress-up opportunities. We'll share some tips and tricks for when and where to wear costumes on your next Disney Treasure cruise with the help of Disney Dan! Keep reading so you can find out how to join the fun.
1. Ground Rules for Wearing Costumes on Disney Cruises

We want you to have a good time, but it's more fun for everyone involved if you're not ruining your or others' Disney Cruise experience. While the rules for wearing costumes are more lax on Disney Cruises than at Disney Parks, guests still need to consider the safety and enjoyment of others. Costumes that are offensive or obstructive, including costumes with full masks and prop weapons, are not allowed to be worn around the ship. There are some very specific guidelines for masks, but you may find it easier not to wear one at all.
Costumes are allowed and even encouraged on themed cruises and during onboard celebrations. (Examples include Pirate Night and character photo ops.) While cruise guests can dress in costume, remember that you are not an official Disney character actor, and you should not confuse other guests by posing for pictures and signing autographs.
Failure to abide by the rules of Disney Cruise Lines may result in you being removed from events!
2. Disney Treasure Themed Areas

We hope you have a swashbuckling good time!

Also, there are costume accessories to add to your Disneybound if you want to be more casual. Which Aladdin character would you love to be?
5. Marvel Dining Costume Ideas
Wolverine Hoodie | Child Black Widow Costume | Kids' Loki Costume | Scarlet Witch Costume |
You may notice that many superheroes hide their secret identities behind masks, so be mindful of your choices if you're looking for costumes to wear to Marvel dining aboard the Disney Treasure. While you could leave the masks behind and still wear your costume of choice, there are also costumes that don't require masks. Or, you can be casual and in character while wearing Marvel apparel!
6. Coco Dining Costume Ideas
Héctor Costume | Toddler Miguel Costume | Mamá Imelda Costume |
How fun would it be to wear a Coco costume to your Coco-themed dining experience? Even without the masks, the outfits are very recognizable. However, anyone who prefers to Disneybound rather than wear a full costume can grab a red hoodie and fit right in!

Experience the glitz and glam of the 1920s by wearing costumes in the 1923 dining room! Vintage-look suits and pinstripes look sharp in this decade-themed dining event. Flapper costumes and accessories like feather boas and pearl jewelry will fit right in. Don't miss out on your chance to take a trip through time without leaving your cruise!
8. Zootopia Ice Cream Costume Ideas

Have you ever dressed up to get ice cream? We know it's not a regular occurrence, but how many chances will you get to dress as Nick Wilde on an ice cream run? The pawpsicle perpetrator has a history with frozen treats as seen in the first Zootopia movie. If you're not keen on wearing a full costume, these character headpieces are another great option!
9. Moana Photo Op Costume Ideas
Adult Hei Hei Costume | Child Moana Costume | Kids' Kakamora Costume | Plus Size Pua Costume |
Similar to other Disney Cruise experiences, the Moana musical show has a photo opportunity. Why not dress up to remember the occasion? You may want to bring a change of clothes to wear during the show, but how fun would it be to take a picture with Moana dressed as Hei Hei or Pua? Or a Kakamora? Of course, you also have the option to Disneybound while wearing a Moana necklace or another costume accessory.
