Hey! Listen! What was your first Zelda game? Some players have been with the series since 1987, the year the first game was released in America. (The Legend of Zelda officially was first released in 1986 in Japan.) Other players joined the Hyrule adventure in 1998, over a decade later, with the Nintendo 64's Ocarina of Time. And we imagine now, new, young players picking up their 3DS and helping guide Toon Link through his quest in the handheld entries to the franchise. Throughout all of these games, our hero, Link, has evolved and transformed, little by little, due to graphics upgrades, designer and developer choices, outfits, and even hair color. In our infographic, we show all of these changes and give you insight into why the differences happened. So, if you're as excited as we are to plug in the Nintendo Switch for the first time on March 3rd, and play the newest Zelda game, Breath of the Wild, we hope you enjoy this blog. Video games have been telling stories since the days of Pong. Sure, a friendly game of table tennis on a Sunday afternoon may not be the next Citizen Kane, but the game still strives to show us an epic competition between two paddles! Other games take us on epic odysseys to a faraway land filled with princesses, dinosaurs, and tiny mushroom people, a la Super Mario Bros., and others, like the stories in Resident Evil, show us our own world, but with more zombies. With the treasure trove of tales to tell, it's not surprising that many games have taken the step into the silver screen. Some entered the movie scene like champs, while others crashed and burned in a glorious blaze of blue Hadouken flames. Since Blizzard has decided to take a stab at it with Warcraft, coming out on June 10th, we got inspired to put together this list of all the internationally released movies based on video games, which shows you which video game movies brought in the most coins and which ones tanked at the box office.

The best video games immerse the player in the action, taking them to a fantastic world of escape and entertainment. Game designers have plenty of tricks they can use to achieve this, but none are more effective than a nameless, faceless, and mostly silent narrator. Link, from the Legend of Zelda series is one example of this archetype; he is a...

Indie games have become more and more popular in recent years, but no title took the gaming community by storm like Five Nights at Freddy’s. Released on August 8, 2014, the game was such a critical success that it spawned 3 sequels (plus and upcoming RPG spinoff made by the same developer), a movie, and hundreds of YouTube videos of “Let’s plays” where you literally watch someone play the game and see their reactions to the gameplay. In Five Nights at Freddy’s, you play as a security guard that has to last through the night shift without getting caught by the haunted animatronics. You have a limited supply of power to use for the mechanical doors that keep the bad guys out and each night gets more and more difficult. Some people enjoy the eerie animation and jump scares, while others find the game is truly terrifying.
Besides the jump scares, another thing that makes the game so scary is the characters themselves! The main villains are the animatronic band at the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant: Bonnie the bunny, Chica the chicken, and Freddy Fazbear. While each subsequent game in the franchise dives a little deeper into the story of what made these characters what they are, the simple story in the beginning is that they are left in “free-roam mode” during the night so they can wander the restaurant. They aren’t allowed to roam free during the day since an incident known as “The Bite of ‘87.” It’s also revealed that if they come across anything else moving, such as a lonely security guard, they will try to stuff them into one of the extra animatronic suits “where they belong.” Each member of the band has their own unique look, and while dressing like an animatronic may seem like a daunting task, we’re going to show you an easy way to do it with our Five Nights at Freddy’s DIY costumes!
